Terms
These terms cover the yapcut app for Mac and the server it talks to. By signing in or using yapcut, you agree to them. They’re short on purpose; the Privacy page explains what data goes where.
What yapcut does
yapcut edits talking-head videos on your Mac. To find what to keep, it sends the audio of each video, the script you paste and your Editing Guide to its server, which transcribes the audio and suggests an edit. Your video files stay on your Mac.
Your account
- You can sign in with TikTok, with Apple, or with a one-time code sent to your email or phone. Keep access to that account or address: it’s how you get back in.
- An account is for one person. Each Mac you sign in on is listed as a device.
- You can sign a Mac out at any time, from the app or from another signed-in Mac.
Your content
- Your videos, audio, scripts and notes stay yours. You let yapcut process them only to transcribe and edit your videos, and to keep the service working.
- Only upload recordings you have the right to use. Don’t use yapcut to make content that is illegal or that infringes someone else’s rights.
Fair use of the service
- Don’t try to break, overload or get around the limits of yapcut’s server, its sign-in or its code messages, and don’t sign up accounts automatically.
- We may limit or suspend an account that does, or that breaks these terms.
Other services
Sign-in with TikTok or Apple is also covered by their terms. yapcut can write drafts for CapCut, which is a separate product from another company; yapcut isn’t affiliated with TikTok, Apple or CapCut.
Price
yapcut is free to use for now. If paid plans come, you’ll see the price and agree to it before you’re ever charged.
No guarantees
yapcut is provided as it is. Edits are suggestions: check a cut before you publish it. We work to keep the service running but can’t promise it always will, and we may change or end features. To the extent the law allows, yapcut isn’t liable for indirect or lost-profit losses, and its total liability is limited to what you paid for yapcut in the 12 months before the claim.
Ending
You can stop using yapcut at any time. If these terms change in a way that matters, we’ll say so in the app before the change applies.
